The drug war in Mexico continues to threaten our borders and today news reports show that Americans are supplying the weapons used in the violence that has claimed 33,000 plus lives in the past five years.
Texas needs to protect it border, as does, all of the States bordering Mexico.
We have to get tougher on illegal aliens crossing the border and we have to get even tougher on drug dealers and their violent ways.
Gov. Rick Perry and the Legislature need to enact new laws to protect us from this plague that has swept Mexico and has crossed the border into the U.S. And these laws along with existing laws need to be enforced.
Zero tolerence.

Three decades and countless lives have been lost in an effort to stop drug use by making it illegal. Billions of dollars could be saved to say nothing of hundreds (or thousands) of lives with a responsible program of legal drug use with enforced rehab programs. Prohibition of liquor didn't work from 1918 to 1933. Prohibition of drugs has had even more dismal results. Just think about it.
